Now, the worst part is that. My laptop isn't able to shut itself down. I see the logoff message aswell as shutting down message and then screen turns black and laptop's stuck there, hanged, frozen. Same with hibernation and sleeping and restarting options. So, i have to hold the powerbutton for few seconds to turn off laptop. .

So the issue turns out to be that the users are running on an older version of Power Query that does not include the AnalysisServices.Database function. Upgrading all instances of Excel to the same version of Power Query should resolve the issue.
