Two high-speed trains collided and then derailed Sunday evening in southern Spain, killing at least 21 people and injuring dozens more, according to officials. The private Iryo train traveling from Malaga to Madrid with about 300 people on board derailed at about 7:45 p.

The collision turned out to be with another train, killing at least 40 people in the deadliest railway crash in Spain since 2013.

King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain said Sunday they were "following with great concern the serious accident between two high-speed trains in Adamuz."
