We stocked a few Paddlefish today! Three trucks and trailers from our Milford Fish Hatchery headed up to South Dakota to bring back over 20,000 Paddlefish from Gavin's Point National Fish Hatchery. The fish were stocked in Perry, Pomona, and Tuttle Creek Reservoirs this afternoon. We have been stocking these reservoirs since 2019 in the hopes of restoring some historical populations. The state’s caviar program brought global luxury to local waters, proving that even the finer things can have humble, muddy beginnings. While the export program has ended, paddlefish season is still a rite of passage for outdoorsy Okies. These prehistoric giants are still swimming in places like Grand Lake — and if
